Bruce is a painter living aboard a sailboat on the San Francisco Bay. He paints small plein air landscapes in oil, drawing inspiration from the tonalist painters of Northern California. The rythm of the tide, waves and wind inform his modest attempts to paint the astonishing beauty of the surrounding world. He’s often sighted ashore, with paintbox and easel strapped to his bike, searching for the perfect spot to capture the play of light between water, landscape and cloud.

Bruce graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Film Studies and has worked in film and video production for over 30 years and is currently at Lucasfilm Ltd. in San Francisco. He has maintained an fine art practice and has studied design, drawing and painting At Santa Barbara City College, Berkeley City College, UC Berkeley Extension and California College of The Arts.
